Not By Law, But By Faith

Islands in the South Pacific.  There are 2 main islands, and just a few smaller ones around it-110 to be exact!  There are many people groups on the islands that don't necessarily get along, causing segregation.  The Methodist church has much history in this country, but is in need of new life and spiritual vitality.  There are several less reached people groups that include Hindus and Muslims.

1 Chronicles 26:12-27:34
David finished assigning the gatekeepers and their watches.  Then he designated various officials, set up the divisions of the military, and listed the leaders of the tribes.

Romans 4:13-5:5
Still using Abraham as an example of faith.  The promise that he would produce a nation did not come through the law, but through faith.  If it was through the law, "faith is null and the promise is void."  This is also true for us- the promise of grace is not for those who uphold the law, but for those who have faith.    And because we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God and can rejoice in that!  "More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

Psalm 14
David says that no one believes in the Lord, that they have all turned away.  He prays for salvation for Israel.

"Whoever is generous to the poor lend to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed."
