I currently have 2 countdowns going. One for the end of school- 15 days!!! And one for my wedding- 42 days!!!!! I am pretty excited about both, as you can see. This past week was filled with field trips and invitations and wedding bands, so I got pretty busy and had to miss a couple of days of blogging.
1 Chronicles 9-10
Guess what? These chapters are still full of names of genealogies. Finally in chapter 10 there is a recounting of the story of Saul's death. (Remember, the Philistines killed him and his sons in battle then took his body and put it up at one of their temples, but Saul's mighty men went and got the body?)
Acts 27
Paul has been in prison for a couple of years. He is on his way to go before Caesar, so he must go by boat. He tries to tell the people in charge that it's not a good idea to sail because of the weather, but they don't listen. After being a sea for some time, a great storm comes and after 14 days they are shipwrecked. But God had told Paul that no one would die. Paul relayed the message and it was true that everyone was safe after the wreck.
Psalm 8
This psalm is about the majesty of the Lord. The writer sees the expanse of the sky and stars and says, "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"
Proverbs 18:22-24
v. 22 "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." :)
El Salvador
Small country in Central America. There has been recent improvement in working conditions after many years of exploitation. There was a civil war in the country in which more than 75,000 died. There is still much recovery needed from that time. The growth of evangelicals has been extraordinary! Mission vision is growing as well. Pray for Christian leaders to have a real impact on society.
