I really like the soundtrack to the movie Pride and Prejudice, and one of the songs is titles "Can't Slow Down." It is a song played at a ball for dancing and as the name implies goes pretty quickly. I feel like I am stuck in that song! Just a quick update on life- Tim got a job! We are so thankful for the Lord's provision, and are now looking for a place to live. It has been a little stressful because our schedules are so cram packed with other things that it's hard to find time to look. I am working on being patient and trusting the Lord to provide again. Wedding plans are coming along, but we are only a little over seven weeks away, so that means all the little things are about to creep up on me. And to top it all off, this time of year at school is especially busy. We are nearing the end with only four weeks to go, but they are busy and full weeks. So, all of this to say that I am meeting myself coming and going, but things are good. I'm still trying to not get too caught up in myself... it's hard to do when life is this busy.
2 Kings 18:13-19:37
Yesterday was a big day in 2 Kings. Ahaz was reigning in Jerusalem over Judah and Hoshea was reigning in Samaria over Israel. Neither one of them did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. Then, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and carried off the Israelites. They were captured because they had not done what was right in the eyes of the Lord- they had idols and did not listen when the Lord told them to turn away from other gods. Then Hezekiah began to reign over Judah and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. Finally, someone tore down the high places and broke apart the idols that people had turned to. Because he followed the Lord, God was with him. And even when the king of Assyria came, the Lord kept Jerusalem safe. Isaiah also enters the picture and speaks to Hezekiah the words of the Lord.
I'm afraid I'm out of blogging time for today. I am keeping up with my reading, though! Maybe someday, life will slow back down...
