Honey is Good

South Korea-
This country is on the southern half of the same peninsula as North Korea, but even though they are so close, they are very different.  In the past, South Korea was a poor, devastated nation, but since then it has grown to become the 11th largest economy in the world.  Conflicts have been brought by surrounding countries.  In 1992 they elected their first civilian president since 1960.  There is complete freedom of religion, and is split fairly evenly between nonreligious, Christian, and Buddhist.  Praise God for the Korean Church which is very visible in the country.

Isaiah 62:6-65:25
Isaiah is praying to the Lord and asking for mercy.  The Lord responds by explaining what the new heaven and new earth will be like and how it will go well for His people.

Psalm 73
The writer (no longer David) is being really honest and confessing that he sees the ways of the wicked and is envious of them.  It looks as though they live however they want to and get whatever they want and there are no repercussions.  However, the writer then recognizes that God will deal with them accordingly and that he can put his trust in the Lord.  God guides him even though he doesn't always have the best sight.  In the end he remembers where his allegiance lies- "Whom have I in heaven but you?  And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you."

Proverbs 24:13-14
Honey is good.  And finding wisdom brings hope for a future.

Philippians 2:19-3:3
Paul is sending Timothy to visit the Philippians so he can bring a report back about how they are doing.  He is also going to send Epaphroditus back to them who had been with him.  The Philippians had heard about E. getting really sick, so Paul wanted to send him back to show that he had recovered.  Then Paul begins telling them to look out for certain people who are evildoers.  Then he gives a new definition of circumcision- those "who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh."
