Kyrgyzstan
Small country bordering China in central Asia. Fairly diverse population. The land is mostly mountainous. The economy is mainly agriculture, but there is widespread poverty and unemployment. Very rough political history including much violence in the country between people and government. There is a new president and hopes of change. There is no state religion and many restrictions on all types. Persecution is common. The Church had a period of growth, and although it is not continuing to grow as much, the people are maturing. Pray for courage for the government to lead in right ways. The rural areas are filled with peoples who are little evangelized.
Jeremiah 2-4:18
The Lord calls Jeremiah and tells him of the plans that have been established for him before he was created. Jeremiah speaks to the people of Judah and Israel and tells them the word of the Lord. The people have turned away from God and He is telling them that if they aren't careful, they won't be able to return to Him. But, of course, He is gracious and does accept them when they turn to Him.
Psalm 76
Asaph writes this psalm about Judah and Israel loving the Lord and how glorious He is.
Proverbs 24:17-22
Don't rejoice when your enemy falls, don't fret over evildoers, but fear the Lord and the king.
Colossians 1:1-17
Paul opens his letter with a greeting and then tells the Colossians that he prays for them. Paul did a lot of praying based off what the beginnings of all his letters say. He must have had a pretty big prayer list. For these people he prays for spiritual wisdom and understanding, reminding them that Christ has brought salvation. Then Paul talks about Christ and how He is in all things, before all things, He created all things, and holds them all together. That's saying a lot!!
