Isaiah 66
It seems like I have been in Isaiah for a really long time. But today is the last day, and while I have enjoyed the book, it has had some hard parts to understand... including today's. The idea itself is not hard. God is talking about how those who are humble and belong to Him will be saved and telling them to rejoice. But He also talks about the final judgement and there are just some things in there that do not seem pleasant. Ok, I'm changing my mind from not understanding, to just not being able to imagine what this is really going to be like. For the people of the earth, it will either be really good on that day, or really bad. I'm glad I belong to the King.
Philippians 3:4-21
Paul is telling the people that if anyone should have confidence in the flesh, seemingly it should be him. He has status, he is circumcised, he knows the law and was a Pharisee... BUT, all those things are nothing when compared to knowing Christ. In fact, Paul considered all those things as loss in comparison. How I want that to be my mindset! Lord, that I would not give thought to things that this world deems important, but would consider them as nothing in comparison to knowing You. I think I have moments of this realization, but I want to live my life in constant awareness of Your greatness! Paul goes on to tell us that he has not already obtained perfection but he keeps working because he belongs to Jesus. His focus is forward, not behind, and he encourages the people to do the same.
Proverbs 24:15-16
Don't try to make a righteous man fall because he will rise again, but the wicked will stumble.
Psalm 74
The writer is describing the things that wicked people have done in his land. But he has trust in God and testifies that He can deliver them. He asks for God to defend!
South Korea
There have been growing numbers of new religions in South Korea. People will take religions and mix them together to make what they like. The Church itself is going through a period of stagnation and the younger generations must be minister to if growth from past years is to be sustained. Pray for missions to Korea to bring renewal, as well as Biblical teaching and personal holiness. Media is a great tool for witnessing, as Korea is on the forefront of digital media.
