Love Incorruptible

Kenya-
The country has an uncertain future because of all the different problems happening now.  The political system is unstable, and is increasingly impacting the Church.  Even though a large percentage of people are Christian, there is a great lack of true spiritual growth.  There is a great need for leaders from the country so that churches are truly African.  Praise God for the work of missions in the country!  Islam is increasing.  There has been a great amount of work on Bible translations.  Pray for more to be done.

Isaiah 54-57:14
The Lord tells Israel today that He was angry with them for a time, but His steadfast love for them brings His compassion.  He says that it is like Noah when He promised not to flood the earth again.  Now He is promising not to be angry and rebuke them again.  God says they will be established and protected by Him.    Then He goes on to tell them that they do not need to labor for things that do not satisfy, but to simply come and have the richest of foods from Him.  He tells them that their ways and thoughts are not as His because His are higher than what we can know.  Then He says that when His word goes out, it will not return empty.  This is one of my favorite promises in the Bible!  We have assurance that if we are faithful to speak the words the Lord gives us, they will accomplish the purpose He has set them for.  God says that everyone will be saved, even foreigners, as long as they observe His commands.  Then Isaiah goes on to talk about the evil leaders of Israel and how the things they do are not pleasing to the Lord.

Psalm 70
David is asking for deliverance and offering his praise, wanting to be able to say, "God is great!"

Proverbs 24:8
"Whoever plans to do evil will be called a schemer."

Ephesians 6
Paul is continuing to describe how we should act in certain relationships.  He speaks to children and parents.  Children are to obey, fathers are to discipline and instruct in the Lord.  And since the mother is submissive to the father, she should follow in this.  (That's my two cents, anyway.)  Slaves are to obey their master and serve with good will as to the Lord, not to the man.  Masters are to remember that they have the same heavenly Master and He shows no partiality.  Paul's final instructions for the Ephesians are to fight, fight, fight!  To take up the armor of God and battle against the devil.  We have been given so many tools and the Lord has equipped us to stand against the schemes of Satan.  I love the last verse Paul says, "Grace be with you all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible."  What a thought!  Do I love Jesus that fiercely?  I sure hope so!
