Liberia

1 Thessalonians 2:9-3:13
Paul is basically just telling the people how glad he is that when they heard the gospel they received it, and now they are continuing in their faith.  Paul was concerned for them, so he sent Timothy to check on them and was glad to get such a good report.

Proverbs 25:1-5
More words from Solomon.  He is talking about how the king (that's him) searches things out and establishes his kingdom.

Psalm 80
The writer is asking God to save His people.  He compares them to a vine that was fruitful and growing, covering everything in the land.  But then trials come and others are eating at the vine.  He ends with a plea for the Lord to restore them.

Jeremiah 14:11-16:15
The Lord tells Jeremiah not to pray for the people because He will not change His mind.  Jeremiah responds by telling the Lord that there are false prophets, but God will not accept this as an excuse.  Then Jeremiah has a "woe is me" moment, but God doesn't relent.  He pleads with the Lord and is finally told that as long as he chooses to return to the Lord, he will be delivered.  Then God speaks to the people and tells them of the destruction that is coming to them.  They ask why and are told because their fathers betrayed the Lord.  God tells them that he will hurl them out of the land and show them no favor.  But, a day was coming when He would bring them back to the land of their fathers.

Liberia
Much of the prayer issues for this country deal with the recovery from two civil wars.  There is need for upright and just leaders, need for economic recovery, and the need to rebuild churches and develop leaders.  Muslims are among the less-reached in the country.  Radio ministry is very important due to a low literacy rate.
