Iraq-
A country full of violent and traumatic history. There have been improvements in the form of government, but Iraq is still considered one of the most corrupt nations in the world. Pray for the elimination of corruption. Many people have endured suffering, including women, children, Christians, and other religious minorities. The number of the Christian community that has been in Iraq since the 1st century has declined drastically due to persecution and harassment. There are growing numbers of people converting from Islam, but it is not nearly enough to make up for those who have left. Most people groups are unreached. Pray for the ministry of Christian literature that has a great start and just needs to be published in more dialects.
Isaiah 12-14
Isaiah is spending more time going back and forth between what will happen to those who have fallen away and those who are righteous. I know which group I want to belong in! I hope Christ will be able to look at me and be pleased!
Psalm 57
David is crying for mercy from the Lord. He declares the greatness of God and says that his heart is steadfast. How I long for a steadfast heart! But I am so quick to forget or choose to do things myself. Father, teach me to be steadfast like you are steadfast!
Proverbs 23:9-11
Don't waste your breath with a fool. Don't take what doesn't belong to you because the Lord avenges.
2 Corinthians 13
Paul tells them he is coming and that he wants to find them "living correctly." It is good for us to be weak because Christ is not weak. He also says to examine yourself and make sure you are living in a manner worthy of Jesus Christ.
