The Throne of God

What a wonderful weekend we had!  My brother-in-law got married and there was lots of family that came in.  Most of them are from out of state so I had not met them yet and we had so much fun getting to spend time with them.  The wedding went really well, but we are both pretty wiped out from all the festivities.

Obadiah
Obadiah's vision was a message for the people of Edom.  They had not been making good choices in regards to following after the Lord.  So, He is letting them know what will be the consequences.  There is actually information about other groups as well, but the main message was for Edom.  This book is only one chapter, and in the end, the kingdom of the Lord is lined out by who will possess which parts.

Revelation 4
This is so cool!  John actually gets an open door into heaven and gets to see God's throne.  So there's this throne with 24 other thrones for elders around it, as well as four crazy creatures praising God, where the One who sits has an appearance like that of jasper and carnelian.  And the elders cast their crown before the throne and bow to worship.  What an amazing thing to see!

Psalm 132
This psalm is about David and his wanting to build the temple of the Lord.  The writer recalls how even though David was not able to build it, God still promised him that his son would build it and that he would not be forgotten.  So the people are asking for God to remember this promise and come dwell in the temple among them.

Proverbs 29:24-25
"The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe."
