Schedules

We have been trying to rearrange our morning schedule to fit in some exercise, which is great, but has not left time for me to blog.  And normally, I would just be able to blog in the afternoon, but this has been the craziest week!  We have had something going on every day this week.  But rest assured that I am keeping up with my stuff.  :)

Saudi Arabia
This country lives in such darkness.  It is the birth place of Islam and they are very much against any other type of religion.  This is a situation where even after reading about the country and learning more, I still feel like there is nothing that can be done except to call upon the power of the Lord to show His light there.

Nahum
This book was written to the people of Ninevah.  I knew Johan dealt with them, but didn't realize there was another book for them.  They are not following the ways of the Lord.  First, Nahum describes the Lord and how He deals with things.  Then he goes on to what has an will happen to them.

Revelation 8
A couple of days ago in the reading, there was a scroll with seven seals on it.  As each seal was opened, something different happened.  In today's reading the last seal was broken and the response was total silence for about half an hour.  Each seal was also connected with an angel, so there were seven angels and they began to blow their trumpets one at a time.  When each one blew its trumpet, something destructive happened on the earth.  I read about the first four today.

Psalm 136
After each small statement of this poem, the writer reminds us that all God's works are done because His steadfast love endures forever.

Proverbs 30 7-9
The verses in this section were written by Agur and today's verses are a prayer.  He asks for the Lord to "Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, "Who is the Lord?" or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God."  I hope my prayers are like that of Agur's, who simply asked for enough.  He asked for just the right amount of God' provision for him.
