Netherlands Antilles
Caribbean islands that are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The population of just over 200,000 has a majority of Christians but their faith is nominal. The Bible was published in their native language several years ago. Pray for its effectiveness in reaching the people.
New Caledonia
Several islands northeast of Australia. They are rich in nickel deposits. This is a French territory. There is a high percentage of Christians, but they country is growing more and more secular. There are several different groups of people on the islands who do not have much outreach.
Ezekiel 23
Today God uses the image of two women who are whores to describe Samaria and Jerusalem. They chase after the men of other countries and invite them in. They continue their whoring through their whole lives, which end in destruction.
Hebrews 10:18-39
Because Jesus is our High Priest and has made His sacrifice once for all and our sins have been forgiven, we are able to come to God in confidence. We have been cleaned and should be encouraging one another. And once we know the Truth, if we continue sinning and living in our old ways, the Lord will punish us. But even when trials come because we believe in God, we need to keep our confidence. "We are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls." v. 39
Psalm 109
My women's Bible study has started a new series where we are looking at the life of David through Psalms. It is so good to see how David responds to the circumstances he faces. Today he asks God to take care of his enemies. He has very specific things that he would like to happen to them. But what really gets me is that even in his plea for deliverance, he still recognizes the steadfast love of the Lord. His desire in God rebuking his enemies is so that they might know He is God. I want to learn from David and have the perspective he did!
Proverbs 27:13
I don't really get it- "Take a man's garment when he has put up security for a stranger, and hold it in pledge when he puts up security for an adulteress."
