Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I love getting to spend time with my family and remembering all the wonderful blessings I have in my life. I'm so thankful that the Lord has chosen me to know Him. I have done nothing to deserve it and I fail so many times. Today, I celebrate His coming to live a sinless life on my behalf. Praise Jesus!
Leviticus 9:7-10:20
Aaron and his sons are still learning about the offerings and how to perform them. They have now been consecrated and given all their instructions. Two of his sons make an incorrect offering and are consumed by the fire. And following that, Moses questions some of the things they have done with the offerings. I suppose I can relate to their failings. How many times do I not follow the instructions given me in God's word? I don't trust Him enough, or listen to Him enough, or believe Him enough... "but He gives more grace." James 4:6
Mark 4:26-5:20
Jesus is teaching in parables. I still do not always understand the things He says or was trying to get across. One of the stories (not a parable) is about Jesus and the disciples taking a boat across the lake when a storm came up and really scared the disciples. Jesus was asleep in the boat and when the woke Him he calmed the storm and then said, "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?" verse 40 This is really hitting home with me today. The Lord has provided for me over and over again in my life. Why would I think He will be any less eager to come to my aid and guide me in a new situation? I'm sorry my faith is so small. Please teach me to trust in You!
Psalm 37:30-40
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip. verses 30-31
Proverbs 10:6-7
Blessings to the righteous.
Pray- Zimbabwe
This country has very fertile farm land but because of government seizure of the land they have become food-import dependent. Pray that the land would be redistributed so that this country may recover and those who have moved away will be able to return. Pray also for the young people who do not see much hope due to the actions of the government.
How sweet it was to be the the Word today!! Merry Christmas!
